DTT also contains certain RNAse inhibitors, which have the ability to inhibit RNAse activity. DTT has similar effects to mercaptoethanol (mercaptoethanol), but its irritating odor is much smaller and its toxicity is much lower than mercaptoethanol. Moreover, when the concentration of DTT is 7 times lower than that of mercaptoethanol, the two have similar effects. But DTT prices are slightly higher.
