The biggest use of acetonitrile is as a solvent. It can be used to synthesize vitamin A, cortisone, carbon amine drugs and their intermediates. It is also used as an active medium solvent for the manufacture of vitamin B1 and amino acids. It can replace chlorinated solvents. It is used in chemicalbook vinyl coatings, and is also used as an extractant for fatty acids, an alcohol denaturant, a butadiene extractant, and a solvent for acrylonitrile synthetic fibers. It also has many uses in fabric dyeing, lighting industry, spice manufacturing, and photosensitive material manufacturing.
