Usage 

Povidone iodine is an unstable complex complex formed by the complexation of surface active agent and iodine. It belongs to the iovidone class of external disinfectants. Under normal temperature, it is yellow brown to reddish brown amorphous powder, soluble in water or ethanol, insoluble in ether .  The 1- vinyl-2 -  rolidone homopolymer is a surfactant, which helps the solution to the wetting and penetration of objects, thereby enhancing the bactericidal effect of iodine.  Among them, 80 ~ 90% of the combined iodine can be deaggregated into free iodine, large concentration, strong bactericidal power, tasteless, no irritation, no sensitization, low toxicity.  It is a broad-spectrum fungicide that can kill viruses, bacteria, spores, fungi and protozoa.  At the concentration of 15ppm, the propagules of various bacteria (staphylococcus aureus, escherichia coli and pseudomonas aeruginosa) can be killed within 1 minute. It takes a longer time to kill mycobacterium tuberculosis, 1.5 hours to kill fungi (bacillus subtilis), and a higher concentration and a longer time to kill mutans melanicus and bacillus cereus.  The hbsag was destroyed at 150ppm for 10 minutes.  This product is not only used for skin disinfection, but also for disinfection of metal medical instruments, tableware, etc.  It is usually red or amber at disinfection concentrations and can be used directly on the skin and meninges of the incision sites of surgical patients, and can also be used for external rinses in obstetrics and gynecology and urology departments.  When its concentration drops below 10ppm, it turns white or light yellow and loses its bactericidal activity.
