Lauric acid, also known as dodecane
acid, is a saturated fatty acid. Its molecular formula is C12H24O2.
Although called lauric acid, it only accounts for 1-3% of the oil. At
present, the vegetable oils with high content of lauric acid are coconut
oil (45-52%), oil palm seed oil (44-52%) and babassu seed oil (43-44%).
Although lauric acid is a saturated fatty acid, its cardiovascular risk
is lower than other saturated fatty acids.
Storage
Use

sun.
Function
Lauric Acid is used in many applications,
including: anionic and nonionic surfactants, and raw material for
emulsifiers. Used in the rubber industry as an activator/accelerator/
