Orthorhombic crystals. Sublimes with decomposition, forming carbon
dioxide and trinitrobenzene; slightly soluble in
water and benzene; soluble in alcohol, ether, and
acetone.
2,4,6-Trinitrobenzoic Acid is used in preparation of Trimethylbenzoyl Chloride.
Dangerous, explodes by heat or shock.
An explosive. A hazard
in preparation. Reacts with heavy metals to
form heator impact-sensitive explosive
salts. When heated to decomposition it
