This alkaloid occurs in Anona purpurea and has been shown to possess the
structure given above. It exhibits borderline cytotoxic activity in vitro against
9-KB tumour test systems.
Oxopurpureine is an oxoaporphine with antiplatelet aggregation activity. Oxopurpureine inhibits collagen, thrombin and arachidonic acid-induced platelet aggregation and can be utilized in relevant research[1].
