Glyphosate-sodium can be used for herbicidal composition to control weed in crop field.
Glyphosate-sodium is produced through the standard glyphosate manufacturing sequence, followed by a post reaction neutralisation step that converts the acid into its sodium salt. Commercial producers first generate glyphosate acid via the well-established route in which glycine is transformed into N-phosphonomethylglycine through controlled phosphonomethylation chemistry. Once the technical-grade acid is obtained, it is neutralised with sodium hydroxide to form the water soluble sodium salt, yielding a material suitable for high load soluble liquid formulations.
Broad-spectrum, systemic, contact action, translocated and non-residual acivity. Inhibits EPSP synthase.
