POLYETHYLENE, CHLORINATED can be considered a random copolymer of ethylene, polyethylene, and 1,2-dichloroethylene. Its molecular chains are saturated, and polar chlorine atoms are randomly distributed. Due to its excellent physical and chemical properties, it is widely used in machinery, power, chemical, building materials, and mining industries. CPE has superior heat resistance, ozone resistance, weather resistance, and aging resistance compared to most rubbers; its oil resistance is superior to nitrile rubber (NBR) and chloroprene rubber (CR); and its aging resistance is superior to chlorosulfonated vinyl chloride (CSM). It is resistant to corrosion from acids, alkalis, and salts, non-toxic, flame-retardant, and poses no explosion hazard. Its main applications include: wires and cables (coal mine cables, wires specified in UL and VDE standards), hydraulic hoses, automotive hoses, tapes, sheets, PVC profile and pipe modification, magnetic materials, ABS modification, etc.
This family of elastomers is produced by therandom chlorination of high-density polyethylene(Polyethylene, chlorinated).Chlorinated polyethylene elastomers areused in automotive hose applications, premiumhydraulic hose, chemical hose, tubing, belting,sheet packing, foams, wire and cable, and in avariety of molded products. Properties includeexcellent ozone and weather resistance, heatresistance to 149°C (to 177°C in many types ofoil), dynamic flexing resistance, and good abrasionresistance.
