Tridecafluorohexanesulfonic Acid is a perfluorinated compound that has been identified to be a p-glycoprotein (p-gp) inhibitor and therefore, a chemosensitizer. Tridecafluorohexanesulfonic Acid is part of a new class of global environmental pollutant; they bioaccumulate and are persistent in the environment and wildlife.
Tridecafluorohexane-1-sulfonic acid potassium salt (PFHxS), also known as potassium perfluorohexanesulfonate, is a perfluorochemical (PFC) that belongs to the perfluoroalkyl sulfonates group. Its presence as a contaminant in the effluents of Taiwanese industrial wastewater treatment plant (IWWTP) and municipal wastewater treatment plants (MWWTPs) has been evaluated. It has been detected in the human serum samples by on-line solid-phase extraction (SPE) method coupled to high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS).
