gallium selenide

Gallium selenide (GaSe) is a semiconductor with a bandgap of approximately 2 eV. GaSe has a direct bandgap that promotes strong photoluminescence and can be used in optoelectronic devices.

dark red; hexagonal; 6mm pieces and smaller with 99.999% purity [CER91] [KIR78] [CRC10]

Gallium selenide can be made by slowly heating a 1:1 mixture of selenium and gallium.
