Fosthietan is a pale yellow oil with a mercaptan-like odor. Molecular weight=241.28; Specific gravity(water=1)=1.3 g/cm3 at 25℃. Hazard Identification(based on NFPA-704 M Rating System): Health 3,Flammability 1, Reactivity 1. Moderately soluble in water.
Fosthietan is a pale yellow oil. It has a
mercaptan-like odor.
ChEBI: Fosthietan is a phosphoric ester.
Pale yellow liquid with a mercaptan-like odor. Used as a nematocide and insecticide. Not registered as a pesticide in the U.S.
Organophosphates, such as FOSTHIETAN, are susceptible to formation of highly toxic and flammable phosphine gas in the presence of strong reducing agents such as hydrides. Partial oxidation by oxidizing agents may result in the release of toxic phosphorus oxides.
FOSTHIETAN is a liquid organophosphorus insecticide. Organic phosphorus insecticides are absorbed by the skin, as well as by the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts.
When heated to decomposition, FOSTHIETAN emits very toxic fumes of nitrogen oxides, phosphorus oxides and sulfur oxides. FOSTHIETAN is a liquid organophosphorus insecticide. Container may explode in heat of fire.
Fosthietan is used as a nematocide
and insecticide. Not currently registered as a pesticide in
the U.S.
f this chemical gets into the eyes, remove anycontact lenses at once and irrigate immediately for at least15 min, occasionally lifting upper and lower lids. Seek medical attention immediately. If this chemical contacts theskin, remove contaminated clothing and wash immediatelyFosthietan 1363with soap and water. Speed in removing material from skinis of extreme importance. Shampoo hair promptly if contaminated. Seek medical attention immediately. If this chemicalhas been inhaled, remove from exposure, begin rescuebreathing (using universal precautions, including resuscitation mask) if breathing has stopped and CPR if heart actionhas stopped. Transfer promptly to a medical facility. Whenthis chemical has been swallowed, get medical attention.Give large quantities of water and induce vomiting. Do notmake an unconscious person vomit. Remove and isolatecontaminated clothing and shoes at the site. Keep victimquiet and maintain normal body temperature. Effects may bedelayed; keep victim under observation.
Color Code—Blue: Health Hazard/Poison: Storein a secure poison location. Prior to working with thischemical you should be trained on its proper handling andstorage. Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, wellventilated area away from alkaline material. Where possible, automatically pump liquid from drums or other storagecontainers to process containers.
UN3018 Organophosphorus pesticides, liquid,
toxic, Hazard Class: 6.1; Labels: 6.1-Poisonous materials.
Incompatible with oxidizers (chlorates,
nitrates, peroxides, permanganates, perchlorates, chlorine,
bromine, fluorine, etc.); contact may cause fires or explo sions. Keep away from alkaline materials, strong bases,
strong acids, oxoacids, epoxides. Strong oxidizers may cause
release of toxic phosphorus oxides. Organophosphates, in the
presence of strong reducing agents such as hydrides, may
form highly toxic and flammable phosphine gas.
In accordance with 40CFR
165 recommendations for the disposal of pesticides and
pesticide containers. Must be disposed properly by follow ing package label directions or by contacting your local or
federal environmental control agency, or by contacting
your regional EPA office.
