Solvent Blue 35 (SB 35) is commercially available under various names: Sudan Blue II, Oil Blue 35, Blue 2N, Blue B and Oil Blue B. EU member states distinguish natural gas oil by using national dyes. In France, marine diesel is dyed blue with solvent blue 35; In Croatia, SB-35 is used to dye diesel fuel. The blue dye SB35 is added to the diesel and the color changes from light yellow to green/blue[1].
Sudan Blue II;Oil Blue 35 (cas# 17354-14-2) is a useful research chemical. Dyes and metabolites, Environmental Testing
Solvent Blue 35 is prepared from 1,4-Dihydroxyanthracene-9,10-dione and Butan-1-amine(2 Moore) condensation.
Sudan Blue II is a synthetic dye, with a functional azo group and aromatic ring. It is widely used to stain alcohols, esters, hydrocarbon derivatives, oils, fats and waxes. Sudan Blue II is carcinogenic and is harmful to human health and environment.
Properties and Applications
