4-Chloro-2-iodopyridine

4-Chloro-2-iodopyridine is used in the synthetic preparation of disubstituted chloropyridine derivatives by regioselective lithiathion of chloropyridines with butyllithium and dimethylaminoehanol which is then followed by substitution with electrophiles.
