Plifenat is a widely used pesticide. Also, it is analog of DDT, one of the organochlorine pesticides, widely used in agricultural and mosquito sprayings.
The commercial production of plifenate involves the acetylation of 2,2,2-trichloro-1-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)ethanol using acetic anhydride or similar reagents under controlled conditions.
Contact and respiratory activity. Long residual effect.
A poison by inhalation.Moderately toxic by ingestion and skin contact. Whenheated to decomposition it emits toxic vapors of Clí.
