BARIUM ANTIMONATE

Barium antimonate, BaSb₂O₆, has been tested as an opacifier in enamels used on cast iron. Barium antimonate has been found to be a useful additive to varistor-ceramic compositions.

Barium antimonate can be prepared by the solid-state reaction of BaO or BaCO₃ with Sb₂O₅ in air at about 1200°C.
