Ammonium diamminetetrathiocyanatochromate(III) monohydrate is used to precipitate primary and secondary amines as their ammonium salts. It is a color reagent and precipitant for mercury. It is also used as a precipitant for primary and secondary amines and certain amino acids. It is a reagent used for quantitative studies, including titrimetric, gravimetric, and spechtometric assays. Additionally, Reinecke salt has also been shown to determine the concentration of Dimenhydrinate using a spectrophotometric procedure. Other studies use Reinecke salt as a chemical actinometer to calculate the photodegradation of Manidipine.
