Allyl methacrylate is a very useful feedstock for chemical syntheses, because it readily undergoes addition reactions with a wide variety of organic and inorganic compounds. It is used as co-monomer of rigid plastics, cross linker, or base product for the manufacture of silanes. It is an impact modifier for thermoplastic resins, and is employed to manufacture coatings, silane intermediates, photoresists, adhesives, optical polymers, floor polishing, dental composites, and vulcanized rubber.
