Uses Piroheptine hydrochloride is an anticholinergic agent to inhibit dopamine uptake. Piroheptine hydrochloride prevents loss of striatal dopamine induced by MPTP (HY-15608). Piroheptine hydrochloride can be used for research in Parkinson[1].

Dosage: 20 mg/kg
Administration: IP; 30 min before MPTP injection (10 mg/kg; 4 times with 1 h interval)
Result: Prevented loss of striatal dopamine.
