Chemical Properties
liquid
Uses
1H,1H,2H,2H-Perfluorooctyltrimethoxysilane, a functional material widely used to make material surface water-repellent[1]. Fluorosilane 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorooctyltrimethoxysilane could be coated onto the surface of BaTiO3 nanofibers by chemical reaction, which enhances their dispersion in poly(vinylidene fluoride) matrix[2].
Flammability and Explosibility
Non flammable
Synthesis
1H,1H,2H,2H-Perfluorooctyltrimethoxysilane (PFOT) could be synthesized by a two-step method: after the hydrosilylation of trichlorosilane and 1H,1H,2H-perfluoro-1-octene (HPFO), the resulting product was then subjected to the alcoholic reaction with sodium methoxide to get the PFOT[1].
