Description
Linalyl octanoate has a dry, fruity, herbaceous odor and a sweet
apricot and plum-like taste with a perfumey note. May be synthesized
by esterification of linalool with n-octanoic acid under azeotropic
conditions; also by hydrogenation of dehydrolinalyl octanoate.

Uses
