General Description
4,4′-Dipyridyl
N,N′-dioxide reacts with various transition-metal salts in MeOH to afford a range of coordination polymers with 1-D chain and 2-D sheet architectures incorporating 36-hxl and 44-sql topologies. 4,4′-Dipyridyl
N,N′-dioxide is reported to undergo hydrothermal reaction with d(10) metal ions (Cd
2+ and Zn
2+) to form three-dimensional grid-like coordination polymers. The electron density of the halogen-bonded complex of 4,4′-dipyridyl-
N,N′-dioxide with 1,4-diiodotetrafluorobenzene at 90K has been studied by X-ray diffraction.
