Description
13,14-
dihydro-
15-
keto Prostaglandin E
1 (PGE
1) is a metabolite of PGE
1 with much reduced biological activity. Steady state plasma concentrations are about 10 pg/ml. 13,14-
dihydro-
15-
keto PGE
1 is a weak inhibitor of ADP-
induced platelet aggregation in human PRP and washed platelets with IC
50 values of 54 and 200 μM, respectively, compared to PGE
1 which has an IC
50 of 40 nM.
Uses
15-Keto Prostaglandin E0 is a metabolite of Prostaglandin E1 (P838600) and has been shown to induce arterial thromboresistance in experimental animals and in man, but with several magnitudes higher concentrations than Prostaglandin E1. 15-Keto Prostaglandin E0 is also used as the active ingredient in compositions used for the treatment of external secretion disorders.
Definition
ChEBI: 13,14-dihydro-15-oxoprostaglandin E1 is a prostaglandin E obtained by formal oxidation of the 15-hydroxy group and hydrogenation of the 13,14-double bond of prostaglandin E1. It has a role as a human xenobiotic metabolite. It is functionally related to a prostaglandin E1. It is a conjugate acid of a 13,14-dihydro-15-oxoprostaglandin E1(1-).
