Biological Activity

Loureirin C can be isolated from "dragon's blood", a dark red resin obtained from a variety of plant sources. The resin extracted from the stems of geraniums is one source of this "dragon blood", which promotes blood circulation and disperses blood stasis. Has antibacterial, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antidiabetic and antitumor effects.
