Description
Mastic gum is a resin that comes from the mastic tree, an evergreen shrub that grows on the Greek island of Chios. There may be health benefits of masic gum, but research into its safety or side effects is limited.

Side effects
Mastic gum is generally well tolerated. In some cases, it may cause headache, upset stomach, and dizziness.Allergic reactions are also possible, especially in people who have an allergy to the flowering plant Schinus terebinthifolius or other Pistacia species.
