Safety Profile
Moderately toxic by ingestion and skin contact. A skin irritant. Ingestion of large quantities causes hypertension, bradycardia, tachypnea, convulsions, death. When heated to decomposition it emits acrid smoke and fumes. See also ARTEMISIA OIL.
Toxicity
The acute oral L D 50 value in rats was reported as 0*83 g/kg (0.69-0.97g/kg) (Moreno, 1973). The acute dermal L D 50 in rabbits was reported as 4-1 g/kg (2.8-6.8 g/kg) (Moreno, 1973).
