Chemical Properties
Orange powder. Solubility in water (50°C) is 200g/L. The aqueous solution is yellow, turning golden yellow upon addition of 1 mol/L sodium hydroxide solution. Addition of hydrosulfite and warming will render the solution colorless. Addition of sodium perborate will not restore the solution to its original color. In concentrated sulfuric acid, the solution is brown, turning golden yellow upon dilution. In concentrated nitric acid, the solution is reddish brown, turning yellow upon dilution.
