Synthesis
Dissolving the compound in water led to the spontaneous formation of the bridged structure XXI. The structure is Dichloro(p-cymene)ruthenium(II) dimer. ¹H NMR (CDCl₃): 7.27 (s, 2H, NHC), 7.05 (s, 1H, NHS), 5.86 (m, 2H, cymene), 5.57 (d, 2H), 5.51 (d, 1H, cymene), 5.24 (d, 2H, cymene), 4.51 (bs, 2H and CH₂), 4.11 (bs, 1H and CH₂), 3.50 (s, 6H, Me), 2.82 (m, 1H, iPr), 2.63 (m, 3H, CH₂), 2.02 (m, 1H and CH₂), 1.86 (s, Me), 1.26 (d, 12H, iPr). The synthetic route is shown in Figure 1.
