General procedure for the synthesis of 4-aminotetrahydro-2H-thiopyran 1,1-dioxide from the compound (CAS:99586-63-7): to a stirred methanolic solution of compound 4.3 (0.14 g, 0.85 mmol) was added Raney Ni catalyst and the resulting mixture was stirred and reacted for 3 hours at room temperature in hydrogen atmosphere. The reaction process was monitored by thin layer chromatography (TLC). Upon completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was filtered and the methanolic filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to afford the target product 4-aminotetrahydro-2H-thiopyran 1,1-dioxide (Compound 4.4, 0.10 g, 78% yield).
