Δ8-THC-d9 contains nine deuterium atoms on the pentyl group. It is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of Δ8-THC by GC- or LC-mass spectrometry. Δ8-Tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ8-THC) is an analog of the natural psychoactive compound Δ9-THC. It binds both the central cannabinoid (CB1) receptor (Ki = 28.5 nM) and the peripheral CB2 receptor (Ki = 25 nM). As these affinities closely parallel those of Δ9-THC, this analog has comparable effects on perception, cognition, pain sensitivity, appetite, nausea, and other physiological processes.
