What is the benefits and side effects of Follistatin?
Oct 14,2025
Follistatin is a monomeric glycoprotein, existing in at least six molecular isoforms (ranging from 32 to 44 kDa). It has been recognized as a binding protein for both inhibin and activin. It binds to inhibin and activin through β-subunits, by which it influences the effect of inhibin and neutralizes the bioactivity of activin.Follistatin may play a distinctly negative role in some other types of cancer.
