What is soda ash used for?

Soda Ash is a safe, simple compound and a key component in a variety of industrial processes from the manufacture of glass to dry powder detergents and lithium-ion batteries. It is also an important ingredient in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Over half of all Soda Ash production is used in glass manufacturing, but  it is used in the soap industry, paper production, pH adjustment, production of cleaners and detergents, and in the polymer and resin industries, as well as being used extensively in metallurgical processes, and across the food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.

1.Due to its antiseptic and fats permeability and breakdown, Soda Ash is incorporated in powder soaps, detergents, specialty household cleaning products, and industrial and commercial applications.  

2.Soda ash also can be used to treat acid-rain-affected lakes. It also helps remove sulphur dioxide (SO2) and hydrochloric acid  (HCl) from stack gases.  

3.Used as a raw material by chemical manufacturers to produce food sweeteners and preservatives.  

4.Soda ash also acts as a pH regulator in producing paper and pulp in Paper industry.
