Cytidine-5'-diphosphate disodium salt(CDP) is a monophosphate nucleotide that is an antiviral agent and an anticancer drug. CDP inhibits viral replication by inhibiting the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and proteins. CDP is synthesized from cytidine monophosphate (CMP) or uridine monophosphate (UMP) by the transfer of phosphoryl group, catalyzed by the enzyme uridylate kinase (UMPK).
