Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by its ability to induce apoptosis using human TF-1 cells is less than 20ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >5.0×104IU/mg.
Physical Appearance
Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a 0.2μm filtered concentrated solution in PBS, pH7.4, with 0.02% Tween-20.
Endotoxin
Less than 0.1EU/μg of rHuTL-1A/TNFSF15 as determined by LAL method.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute in sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer containing 0.1% BSA to a concentration of 0.1-1.0mg/ml. Stock solutions should be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at ≤-20℃. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.

Background
TL-1A is a type II transmembrane protein belonging to the TNF superfamily and has been designated TNF superfamily member 15 (TNFSF15). TL-1A is predominantly expressed in endothelial cells and its expression is inducible by TNF-α and IL-1α. TL-1A binds with high affinity to death receptor 3 (DR3), known as TNFRSF25. Depending on the cell context, ligation of DR3 by TL-1A can trigger one of two signaling pathways, activation of the transcription factor NF-kB, or activation of caspases and apoptosis. Recombinant human TL-1A is a 20.5kDa polypeptide of 180 amino acid residues.
