INFORMATION ON ACARBOSE
Acarbose is a novel oral hypoglycemic drug. Acarbose can inhibit glucoside hydrolase in the intestine competitivly. Acarbose can reduce sugar and sucrose into glucose, the glucose uptake corresponding to slow down, so acarbose can reduce postprandial blood glucos. Generally, acarbose use alone, or with other oral hypoglycemic drugs, or with insulin. Acarbose is used to treat insulin dependent diabetes or non dependent diabetes.
