Ammonium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC-NH₄) is a non-ionic cellulose obtained through a series of chemical processing using natural polymer material-cellulose as raw material. It is a white powder that is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic, capable of dissolving in cold water to form a transparent, viscous solution.
It possesses functions such as thickening,adhesion,dispersion,emulsification,film-forming,suspension, adsorption, gelation,and surface activity; it is widely used in the production processes of honeycomb ceramics, lithium-ion batteries, supercapacitors, electronic packaging, etc., to improve product yield. Its structure is C₆H₇O₂(OH)₂OCH₂COONH₄ and its molecular formula is C₈H₁₅O₇N.
