背景信息

The Phospho-4E-BP1 (Thr37) antibody is a critical tool for studying the regulation of protein synthesis and cellular growth through the mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin) signaling pathway. 4E-BP1 (eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E-binding protein 1) is a downstream effector of mTOR complex 1 (mTORC1). When unphosphorylated, 4E-BP1 binds to eIF4E, a cap-binding protein essential for initiating mRNA translation, thereby inhibiting cap-dependent translation. Phosphorylation of 4E-BP1 at specific residues, including Thr37. Thr46. Ser65. and Thr70. disrupts its interaction with eIF4E, enabling translation machinery assembly. The Thr37 site is among the earliest phosphorylation events in this hierarchical process, mediated by mTORC1 activity.

This antibody specifically detects 4E-BP1 phosphorylated at Thr37. serving as a marker for mTORC1 activation.
