背景信息

The Phospho-4E-BP1 (Ser65) antibody detects the phosphorylated form of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E-binding protein 1 (4E-BP1) at serine 65. a key regulatory site in cellular translation control. 4E-BP1 inhibits cap-dependent translation by binding to the eukaryotic initiation factor 4E (eIF4E), preventing its interaction with eIF4G to form the eIF4F complex. Phosphorylation of 4E-BP1. particularly at Ser65. disrupts this interaction, releasing eIF4E to promote ribosome recruitment and protein synthesis. This phosphorylation event is primarily mediated by the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1) in response to growth factors, nutrients, or cellular stress, linking it to pathways regulating cell growth, proliferation, and survival.

The Phospho-4E-BP1 (Ser65) antibody is widely used in research to assess mTORC1 activity and downstream signaling in conditions such as cancer, metabolic disorders, and aging.
