Product Description
Styrene monomer is an organic compound with the chemical formula C8H8. This derivative of benzene is a colorless oily liquid, styrene monomer evaporates easily and has a sweet smell, although high concentrations have a less pleasant odor.
Precautions:
1. Precautions for storage: generally, the commodity is added with polymerization inhibitor. Store in a cool and ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat source. The storage temperature should not exceed 37 ºC. The package should be sealed and not in contact with air. It should be stored separately from oxidants and acids, and avoid mixed storage. It should not be stored in large quantity or for a long time. Explosion proof lighting and ventilation facilities are adopted. It is forbidden to use mechanical equipment and tools that are easy to produce sparks. The storage area shall be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and suitable storage materials.
2. It should be packed in galvanized iron drums, added with polymerization inhibitor, and stored at low temperature (below 25 ºC) or refrigerated warehouse to prevent polymerization deterioration. Keep away from fire source and do not directly expose to sunlight. The storage period is one month. Store and transport according to the regulations of inflammable and toxic substances.
Application
Application 1: For organic synthesis and resin synthesis.
Application 2: Mainly used as raw materials of polystyrene, synthetic rubber, engineering plastics, ion exchange resin, etc.
Application 3: It is used to prepare brightener for copper plating, leveling and brightening.
Application 4: The most important uses are the synthetic rubber and plastic monomers for the production of styrene butadiene rubber, polystyrene and foam polystyrene. It can also be used to copolymerize with other monomers to produce engineering plastics with various uses. For example, ABS resin is prepared by copolymerization with a crylonitrile and butadiene, which is widely used in various household appliances and industry; San prepared by copolymerization with a crylonitrile is impact resistant and bright color resin; SBS copolymerized with butadiene is a kind of thermoplastic rubber, which is widely used as modifier of PVC and PP. In addition, a small amount of styrene is also used as intermediate of perfume. Cinnamyl chloride was obtained by chloromethylation of styrene, which was used as intermediate of non narcotic analgesic qiangtongding. Styrene was also used as technical drug of antitussive and expectorant k etamine and anticholinergic drug Weichangning.
Application 5: Electron microscope analysis, organic synthesis.Used for ICP-AES, AAS, AFS, ICP-MS, ion chromatography, etc. Standard solution for titration analysis.
