Description
Semax can rapidly increase the level and expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and its signal receptor TrkB in hippocampus, and rapidly activate 5-hydroxytryptaminergic and dopaminergic brain systems. It can weaken the behavioral effect of chronic stress exposure and enhance the exercise activity produced by D-amphetamine.
Semax Competitive Antagonist of Melanocortin Receptor Total Agonist α- Melanocyte stimulating hormone( α- The in vitro and in vivo experimental conditions of MC4 and MC5 receptors indicated that MSH may act as an antagonist or part of the agonist of these receptors. It can inhibit the interaction with enke phalin and other endogenous regulatory peptides (IC50=10 μ M) Enzymes involved in degradation.
Semax is a heptapeptide, which is a similar synthesis of adreno corticotropic hor mone (AC TH) fragments. AC TH (4-10) has the following amino acid sequence: Met Glu His Pro Gly Pro (MEHFPGP, single letter form).
Semax increases the level of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). Semax also helps to reduce the breakdown of enke phalin
