Salicylanilide is a chemical compound which is the amide of salicylic acid and aniline. It is classified as both a salicylamide and an anilide.Derivatives of salicylanilide have a variety of pharmacological uses. Chlorinated derivatives including niclosamide, oxyclozanide, and rafoxanide are used as anthelmintics, especially as flukicides. Brominated derivatives including dibromsalan, metabromsalan, and tribromsalan are used as disinfectants with antibacterial and antifungal activities.USES- it can be use as anti septic agents.

Usage:The product is a mildew-proof agent, mainly used for anti-mildew of cotton fabrics, its sodium salt can be used for sheep, or concentrated vinyl chloride and other plastics, rubber, paint, adhesive, leather and other materials mildew-proof agent. Medicinal grade products are used for the treatment of skin ringworm and anti-corrosion of drugs. 3,4 ', 5-tribromosalicylanilide was obtained by adding salicylanilide to 50% acetic acid at 55℃ and reacting with bromine for 1h. It's a fungicide used in soaps and cosmetics. Salicylanilide is also used as an intermediate in other fine chemicals.
