1.Mono ethylene glycol is mainly used for making polyester, polyester, polyester resin, hygroscopic agent, plasticizer,
surfactant, synthetic fiber, cosmetics and explosives.
2.It is also used as solvent for dyes, inks, antifreeze for engine preparation, gas dehydrating agent, resin manufacturing, and wetting agent for cellophane, fiber, leather and adhesive. It can produce synthetic resin pet, fiber grade PET is polyester fiber, bottle grade PET is used to make mineral water bottle, etc.
3.It can also produce alkyd resin, glyoxal, etc. it can also be used as antifreeze. In addition to being used as antifreeze for
automobile, it is also used for the transportation of industrial cooling capacity, which is generally called refrigerant. At the
same time, it can also be used as condensing agent like water.
It is mainly used in the preparation of antifreeze for automobile cooling system and production of polyethylene terephthalate, and also used in the production of synthetic resins, solvents, lubricants, surfactants, softeners, humidifiers
Ethylene glycol is the simplest aliphatic dihydric alcohol with chemical properties of alcohols such as being capable of generating ether, ester, or being oxidized into acid or aldehyde as well as being condensed to form ether or being substituted by halogen. Its reaction with acyl chloride or acid anhydride generally forms di-esters.
