Heparin can prevent platelet aggregation and destruction, inhibit the conversion from fibrinogen to fibrin monomers, inhibit the formation of thromboplastin and fight against the pre-formed thromboplastin, and also prevent the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin and counteract the antithrombin.
