sun-induced aging. Salicylic acid is commonly used in clinical trials to reduce the risk of long-term
complications of heart disease in diabetics. Ethylhexyl salicylate is added to sunscreens
to increase protection against ultraviolet rays, making the sunscreen more effective.
It also has the ability to stabilise another chemical sunscreen ingredient, avobenzone,
thus extending the duration of sun protection. Ethylhexyl salicylate also acts as a UV absorber
