Etibabatide (Integrilin, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, also marketed by Schering-Plough /Essex) is an antiplatelet drug in the glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitor class. Etibaptide is a cyclic heptapeptide derived from a protein found in the venom of the Southeastern dwarf rattlesnake (Sistrurus miliarius barbouri). It belongs to the arginine-glycine-aspartate analog class and reversibly binds to platelets. Etifibatide has a very short half-life. The drug is the third widely accepted GPIIb/IIIa inhibitor after the specific antibodies abximab and non-peptirofiban entered the global market.
Integrilin is sold worldwide in two concentrations: vials containing 2 mg/ml (20 mg total) and 0.75 mg/ml (75 mg total). The third size is sold in the United States :100 ml pack with 2 mg/ml (total 200 mg).
