Dex  Amethasone is one of the commonly used drugs in clinic. It is often used together with other drugs in clinical practice, and it has anti-inflammatory, anti-toxic and anti-allergic effects. However, it has no therapeutic effect on the disease, and can only reduce or inhibit the performance of inflammation, so it must be noted in clinical use, generally not used alone to cooperate with other drugs to play a better role.

Pharmacological action

Dex  Amethasone(DSMS), also known as Flamethasone, flumedesonone, desamethasone, is a synthetic adrenal cortex hormone. It is a glucocorticoid hormone class anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic drugs, its pharmacological effects are mainly anti-inflammatory, anti-toxin, anti-allergy, anti-rheumatism, clinical use is more widely. In recent years, the European Union believes that eating beef containing hormones such as estrenediol, progesterone and medroxyprogesterone can disrupt the normal functions of human endocrine, growth and development, immune system and reproductive system, and may also cause cancer and teratogenesis, so the use of such hormones in animals is prohibited. In addition, dexamethasone is also used as an animal growth regulator to promote animal protein synthesis and metabolism, increase meat production, and has been widely used as livestock and poultry. However, long-term laboratory studies have found that dexamethasone can cause cancer and gene mutation in experimental animals, dexamethasone and its residues have obvious toxic side effects on humans and animals, and the use of high doses of dexamethasone can lead to muscle atrophy, growth inhibition and other side effects. It is concluded that long-term use of such drugs or long-term consumption of domestic animals and poultry adding such growth promoters can also cause cancer and gene mutations. Therefore, the use of such drugs in treatment and feed is prohibited.

Side effect

Dex  Amethasone is a kind of artificial adrenal corticosteroid, which belongs to long-acting glucocorticoid drugs. Glucocorticoids can promote the metabolism of three major nutrients and prevent protein synthesis. Long-term external use can lead to more serious consequences, but the adverse reactions are much smaller than oral administration. Stomach upset, increased sensitivity to gastric ulcer. Increased appetite, leading to significant weight gain. Potential diabetic patients: Glucose intolerance is aggravated in patients with pre-existing diabetes. Psychosis, including personality changes, irritability, excitement, mania. Long-term treatment of osteoporosis: pathological fractures (e.g., hip joints). Elevated liver enzymes, fatty lentiform degeneration (usually reversible). Long-term high dose of medication in patients with nephrotic syndrome can easily cause gastrointestinal ulcers, aseptic necrosis of femoral head and other side effects. The treatment of nephrotic syndrome is better with prednisone acetate tablets. Dexamethasone is used to treat high altitude cerebral and pulmonary edema. People use it on mountain expeditions to relieve altitude sickness. Used in combination with mabofloxacin, clotrimazole, etc. to treat ear infections or allergies in dogs or birds.

Drug interaction

(1) Oral acid-making drugs can reduce the gastrointestinal absorption of dexamethasone.

(2) Ammoniumide can inhibit the adrenal cortex function, accelerate the metabolism of this drug, and shorten its half-life. Hydrocortisone may be used in patients using aminolumide, if a combination of glucocorticoids is required.

(3)Dex Amethasone can weaken the effects of oral hypoglycemic agents, anticoagulants and neuromuscular blockers, and the dose should be adjusted.

(4) Barbiturates, phenytoin and rifampicin can weaken the metabolic promotion of dexamethasone.

(5)Dex  Amethasone can increase the toxicity of salicylic acid.

(6)Dex  Amethasone antagonizes the action of vitamin A and should be avoided.

Application:

It is mainly used for anti-inflammatory and anti-allergy, and is suitable for rheumatoid arthritis and other collagen diseases.
