Baclofen, also known as Beikangfen, Beikefen, and Liluxing, and the drug names are Jishu, Liolaisu, and clofenbufen. It is a derivative of γ-aminobutyric acid, a spasmolytic drug, a skeletal muscle relaxant and sedative that acts on the brain and spinal cord of the central nervous system. It inhibits the release of excitatory amino acids such as glutamate and aspartate by stimulating receptors, thereby inhibiting the transmission of monosynaptic and polysynaptic reflexes in the brain and spinal cord of the central nervous system, thereby playing a spasmolytic role.
