Aluminum chloride hexahydrate is a colorless orthorhombic crystal. Industrial products are light yellow or dark yellow. Soluble in water, ethanol and ether. The aqueous solution is acidic. Slightly soluble in hydrochloric acid.
Application
1. Aluminum chloride hexahydrate is mainly used as hardener for precision casting mold shell. It can be used as wood preservative, papermaking sizing and precipitant. It is the raw material of hydrocracking catalyst monomer in petroleum industry. Used for wool refining (carbonized plant fiber removal), Aluminium Hydroxide Gel production, and also for dyeing and pharmaceutical industry.
2. Aluminum chloride is mostly used as a catalyst for organic synthesis. It is widely used in petroleum cracking, synthetic dyes, synthetic rubber, synthetic resin, synthetic detergent, medicine, perfume, pesticide, etc.
