4,4'-Xylylene sulfoxide is a sulfoxide compound. Representative listed drugs containing sulfoxide skeleton structure such as esomeprazole (A.Aktiebolag, US5877192A, 1998) for the treatment of stomach and modafinil for the treatment of narcolepsy and anorexia (L.L.Lafon) , US4927855A, 1990). Due to its structural diversity and remarkable biological functions, the synthesis of sulfoxides has attracted extensive attention from synthetic organic chemists and pharmacologists. In addition, sulfoxide compounds also have important biological activities.
