use
1-tert-butoxy-3-pyrrolidone is a starting material and a useful intermediate for organic synthesis.
Synthesis method
In a dry 500 ml reaction flask, the Dess Martin oxidizer (45.9 g, 108 mmol) was slowly added in 3 batches to a methylene chloride solution (300 m L) of 3-hydroxypyrrolidine-1-carboxylate (10 g, 54 mmol). The resulting reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 16 h. At the end of the reaction, the reaction mixture was filtered through diatomite with ethyl acetate as eluent to remove the insoluble solid, and the filtrate was removed under vacuum. The residue was separated and purified by silica gel column chromatography and eluted with 0-8% ethyl acetate/n-hexane gradient to obtain the target product 1-tert-butoxy-3-pyrrolidone (9.8g, 97%).
