5. Character: It is white crystalline powder. It is deliquescent and tastes salty. Relative density is 1.570. Melting point is 292ºC. It is easily soluble in water, ethanol and carbinol, but insoluble in aether.

6. Usage: It is used as buffering agent, neutralizer, preservative, color retention agent (protect natural color of animals and plants).

7. Storage and Transport: It should be stored in a dry, clean and ventilated  warehouse; and kept away from water and moisture during transport, unloaded with care so as to avoid damage to bags. Be cautious to keep away from moisture and hot.
